To all on the various lists:-
As a former Nova Scotian, all the names are "downhome"
names to me -- including Farquhar, my maiden name.
The Rodenhizer list is familiar -- my husband's mother's
name and I have history back to about1650 and arrival
in Halifax and then Lunenburg in 1753.
The bulk of the messages seem to be from with United States
whereas we have many of the names in Nova Scotia with
a great deal of history for each one.
Very often I find SUBSCRIBE and UNSUBSCRIBE messages
listed among spam -- I accept these and they either go to the
list or come to myself. This is the way this Mailman program
works -- a person is a non-member until he or she subscribes.
Should there be any problems you might be having, please let
me know at NAME-OF-LIST-Admin(a)rootsweb.com
I know from the Farquhar and Rodenhizer families, there have
been many who have moved from Canada to United States --
all the same family. I have written books about each family
so have checked the details. Also, many early immigrants
used the surname HUTT -- some still do, but basically HATT.
Sincerely hope all are enjoying being members of the above lists,
Sincerely,
Muriel - list admin
