There was an article on it in the St. Louis Post Dispatch a few weeks ago.
This judge in St. Charles found the records in the basement of the courthouse
and had the good sense to notify someone who could do something with them.
The researchers spent 4 years going through and cataloging these records and
they will eventually be microfilmed and made available to the public. I believe
they said it would take a year or so to do that in its entirety. Meanwhile
the records will be made available at the St. Charles Co. Historical Society's
Library (I don't have the address), and eventually the Missouri State
Archives will have the material as well. Maybe they will post it online like they
did the death records. We can only hope.
