Hi Mike,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm re-copying parts of your original message so it is clear what I
am talking about.

Howard,
Unfortunately I don't have a source citation for Christian, Moritz, and
Johannes'
forebears. This tells me that I most likely got it from this or
perhaps another
list. Consider this info provisional. Perhaps someone else on the Zug list can
help us out with this. It certainly seems possible that more information
has come
to light since 1983.
As to the identity of Johannes' wife, Veronica, I show the source as AAMG
and
from
deed in Cumru Township, Berks Co. Pennsylvania. John Zug and his wife
Veronica
sold land in 1768. I don't have immediate access to either source, so I
don't know
if either refers to her surname. I sure would like to nail all this
down!
I assume AAMG means _Amish and Amish Mennonite Genealogies_ by Gingerich and
Kreider, 1986. Both it and Harry Zook in _Zug/Zuck/Zouck/Zook Genealogy_
mention
this deed. Yet both show the wife of Johannes, the immigrant, as just
Veronica _______. So, I assume the deed doesn't show her maiden name.
However, both show that Johannes, the son of Moritz, m/2 Veronica Yoder.
So, maybe this Veronica got mixed up with the other one.
As to the ancestors of the 3 immigrant brothers, AAMG says in footnotes:
"HGR548 note says 'Christian Zug by tradition was the son of John Zug;
who was the lineal descendant of Hans Zaug of Switzerland.'"
(I don't seem to have info on what their code for ref. HGR means.)
Regards,
Howard
