Hi Art and Dottie,
If I recall correctly, I first found my 4-g grandfather Johannes GERBER d
1777 on
the tax rolls of Cumru Twp., Berks Co., PA (now downtown Reading) in
1762. Somewhere I got the notion that he bought his land from a ZUG. I
have done quite a bit of work on MILLERs, and I have tried to document this
work by entering "Mennobits" obituaries. The result is that I have
thousands of MILLER records, many more than my own and twenty other GERBER
and GARBER lines that I have entered.
I'm going to see if I can find out anything about your MILLERs
and I'll
check back with you. My file is "ggtake4" on Rootsweb.
Probably best to
search your MILLERs on
http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi and see what you can find.

Dottie,
My greatgrandfather, William David Miller, prepared a family history in
1922
wherein he stated that his grandfather (my third-great grandfather),
David
Miller, and his future wife Deborah Zook were on same ship coming from
"across the sea landing in New York or nearby about 1756 or 1758". I have
since proven that Deborah Zook was born in the US, so it appears that the
story is somewhat off base. Perhaps the story really applied to David and
Deborah's parents. We know that Deborah's father was Peter Zug/Zook who
would have been a child on the James Goodwill with his father Ulric in
1727.
Perhaps David's father was also on this ship. This is the reason
for
wanting to sort out the Millers on this ship.
Harry Zook has laid out Peter Zug's migration across Pa.--- to Franklin
Co.,
Pa. to Somerset Co., Pa. to Fayette Co., Pa. to Washington Co., Pa.
before
his death 1803 in Greene Co., Pa. I have not been able to find my David
Miller before mid 1780's in Fayette/Washington Co., Pa. He would have
married Deborah c1775 and they migrated to Nelson Co., Ky. in 1796.
I found David Miller living among several Brethren families in West
Bethlehem Twp., Washington Co., Pa. 1788 thru 1794. Included were James
Beatty, Edward Dorsey, Gaspar Feester, Neil Gellespy, Anthony Hardman,
Henry
Hartsock, Joseph Hill, Daniel Leatherman, William Miller, John
Miller,
Peter
Shidler, Martin Spohn, Adam Weaver and Peter Wise. Several of these
families came from northern Maryland and several migrated on to Shelby
Co.,
Ky. and Montgomery Co., Ohio. I'm still trying to determine if
my
David Miller was in Maryland.
David and Deborah Miller lived in Nelson Co., Ky. until 1800 when they
moved
nearby to Bullitt Co. In 1809 they purchased land in now Marion Co.
where
they lived and died. He died 1848 and she died in 1853, living with her
son
David. Supposedly, they had twelve children. I have identified
Catherine
P. (b.1779), Samuel (b. c1783), Lewis (b. c1791), Jacob. (b. ?), Elizabeth
(b. 1795), Mary M. (b. 1780's), David (b. 1799). Potential other children
are John, William, Peter, Jane.
Sure would like to hear how we might connect.
