Someone sent a message with a bunch of Zug--maybe Zook also, in it today.
Deleted accidentally, so would appreciate haveing it resent to me.

Hi all,
I believe my ZUG line is as follows:
Christian ZUG, m. Anna KANNABEL. They had a daughter Barbara
ZOUK/ZUG/ZUCK b. 1745, d. 1815, who m. Michael BEEGHLEY in 1774.
That's all I know. If any of you on the list have more info. or if my
info. is incorrect I would welcome corrections and or additions.
Thank you,
Andy Rohrbach
Andy -
According to the Zug/Zuck/Zouck/Zook Genealogy by Harry D. Zook, Christian
Zug, who was one of the three 1742 immigrants, m. Anna Knoble(he explains the
discrepancy in the spelling). Though he had 3 wives, Anna appears to be the
mother of all his children, who are as follows: Anna Zug m. Peter Miller;
Barbara Zug(b. Sept. 1742, d. 1815) m. Michael J. Beeghly(2 Feb. 1739-12 Aug.
1812); Elizabeth Zug m. Jacob Kauffman; John (Zug)Zook (d. Mar. 1821) m.
Mary___; Yost Zug(d.Dec. 1812) m. Christina"Catharine"____; Mary Zug m. 1775
John Olinger; Jacob Zug(d.1822) m/1 Anna Long, m/2 Gertrude Miller, m/3
Magdalena Schrock; and Christian Zug(20 Apr. 1752-8 Oct.1826) m. Magdalena
Blank(d. 14 Aug. 1833, aged 81).
It says that Christian Zug d. 17 Dec. 1787, E. Whiteland Twp, Chester Co. PA.
His name appears on Bern Twp., Lancaster Co. tax lists for 1752 and 1754.
"The site of his original home is believed to be at or near an old stone
house presently owned by John Landis on Wolf Creek, north of Shartlesville."
(Of course this book is copyright 1983, so that may be outdated.)
I first came in contact with Harry D. Zook about 1988 when he sent me family
group sheets for my line, which descends from one of the original immigrants
of 1727, Ulrich Zug, asking me to update them and return them, which I did.
He was working on a sequel to the original book, but I have no idea if this
happened. If you are interested in the book, on the flyleaf it lists: Harry
D. Zook, Calder Square Station, P.O. Box 10091, State College PA 16805-0091.
I gave this address to another researcher a few months ago, and he e-mailed
me back that he had made contact with him.
Good luck in your research,
Linda Berry
Thanks Mary
That was a real BINGO. I've been looking for those ladies for about five
years.
I'll try to find the book and will contact you if I can't.
I have the AAMG book and will do lookups for you if you need them.

Dear Carl - I have some information for you. This is taken from the Zug Zuck
Zouck Zook Genealogy, by Harry D. Zook, a definitive work beginning with the
immigrants, and taken up to ca. 1850. When I last communicated with Harry
several years ago, he was planning a sequel - I have no idea if this
happened. In case you wish to look for this book, I suggest the publisher:
Gateway Press, 111 Water Str., Baltimore MD.
Mary Zook (Zug) b. 26 Jan. 1786, is listed in his book(same dates as you have
for marriage and death) as the daughter of Johannes (Zug) Zook, b. 15 May
1756, d. Feb/Mar 1823 and Magdalena Fisher. Johannes(John) had two other
wives, but the children are believed to be Magdalena's. Mary was the first
daughter, following three sons - Daniel, Christian, and John. After her,
came the siblings Magdalena, Elizabeth, Jacob, and Barbara. I can send you
dates on some of these if you wish.
Johannes, her father, spent most of his life in Honeybrook(formerly West
Nantmeal) Township, Chester Co. PA. His father, Johannes, was one of three
original immigrants in 1742.
According to most stories, there were two Zug immigrants who were the
progenitors of most of the line in this country, that came in 1727, and
another three in 1742. The two in 1727 were Ulrich and Peter( I am descended
from Ulrich), and the three in 1742 were Christian, Moritz, and Johannes.
I find a listing in the book for Elizabeth Zug, m. Jeptha Yoder. She was the
daughter of Jacob Zug and Anna Long. His father was the original immigrant
Christian.
I also see a listing for Anna Zug m. Peter Miller. She was the daughter and
first child of immigrant Christian Zug and his wife Anna Knoble. Anna Zug
Miller came over from Europe with her parents, but her sister, Elizabeth Zug
(m. Jacob Kauffman), who was the third child of the couple, most likely was
born here. It is not very clear on this, however.
I hope this helps. I will send more info from the book if you are unable to
locate it from the publisher or the library. Sincerely, Linda Berry

Hello to everyone on the ZUG-L(a)rootsweb.com mailing list.
For the time being I have been asked to serve as the custodian of this
mailing list.
I welcome all of you to stay on this list and hope that the list can
continue as in the past. If you do not want to remain on this list, you can
unsubscribe in the usual manner, by sending a message to
<ZUG-L-request(a)rootsweb.com> or <ZUG-D-request(a)rootsweb.com> with the word
Unsubscribe as the only word in the Subject line and as the first line of
text. Or you can send a message to me at <jshuman(a)telis.org> and I will
unsubscribe you manually if you wish.
I am not here to cause any problems or try to start a flame war. Flaming
will not be allowed on this list. Although I have very distant ZUG
ancestry, I am not as well versed in the research of this line as many
others, and therefore will not be able to answer many of the genealogy
questions that may arise. I am here right now simply to help keep this list
going and this forum open for those of you who wish to continue here on the
rootsweb mailing list.
Quite a lot of exciting changes and additions are happening at RootsWeb,
and I think you'll enjoy the opportunity to pursue your research through
this venue.
I am the list custodian of three other surnames lists here on Rootsweb, so
I do have some experience as a list owner.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
