ZORN, Joseph: b. ~1808, probably Alsace-Lorraine; m. ---------; d.?.
Joseph evidently emigrated with brother, Peter. Joseph's first wife is
unknown but was mother of four children; 3 born in New Orleans, LA
including my GGM, Josephine, b. 1835. The fourth, Joseph, was born in
Indiana, where brother, Peter, was at time. Joseph's wife probably dies
in Indiana; In 1850, the family is separated; son Joseph is in Indiana
in Peter's household; Joseph Sr. is in Seguin, TX with Lewis and
Josephine. Whereabouts of Adaline is unknown; however, she and husband
do end up in Seguin. Joseph marries again in Seguin; however, by 1870
he is not there. On 1870 census in San Marcos, Hays Co., a Joseph Zorn
appears as a merchant (his occupation in Seguin). Searching for: 1)
name of first wife in LA; 2)death of said wife - date and place; 3)
Death location and date of Joseph, Sr. Joseph Jr. becomes mayor of
Seguin and was quite prominent. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery in
Seguin but Joseph Sr. is not. Also note there is small town named Zorn
in Guadalupe Co. TX between San Marcos and Seguin. Don't know whether
this is connected to my family but suspect it is. Anyone out there
connect? Jody Nestler, Grand Junction, CO
