Gary, Your right on Nicholas. I must have made a mistake when typing the info
in. Nicholas III was a brother of Henry Zorn, Jr. John Jackson's father.
Sorry for that, probably had you wondering. As far as getting your info into
a GEDCOM its pretty easy. In Family Treemaker, you click FILE and select
COPY/BACKUP EXPORT FAMILY FILE. This will bring up a menu with folders
like CLIPART, etc in it. Down at the bottom it will have spaces for FILE NAME
and SAVE AS TYPE. Give the file a name which you do not use for you FTW file.
Click the arrow by the space where it says SAVE AS TYPE. It will give you a
selection. Select GEDCOM. Then hit SAVE. It will save it as a GEDCOM file for
you to email. Then just go to your email, type in my direct address. Go to
attachments and family treemaker and select the file you saved as a GEDCOM.
and send. It sounds complicated, but its not really to bad. Also, are you
backing your tree up with something other than your pc? I use my ZIP drive to
keep an extra copy on. That way if ever something goes wrong with my pc, or I
lose any kind of data. I can always reload it from the ZIP copy. I have so
much info now, it would take forever to redo it. Just a little tip. If you
have a CD-RW, it does really well for keeping a copy. Anyway, I hope this
helps. Let me know if you have any problems, would be glad to help you. I
will get mine backed up on a GEDCOM and send to you also.
Thanks,
Brent Milligan
