I have just looked at the records for St. Boniface Parish, in New Riegel, Ohio; and am now
sure that the "Zoller" spelling was used when they were alive. Some of his
descendants spelled it "Zeller". We have the corrected spelling as
"Zoeller" from the C.P.P.S. Priests. Franciscus was born in the very early
1800's. He had a large family. When his wife Maria died, after 1850, he married a
widow with children: They were married at St. Boniface. They had children, one of whom was
my Greatgrandfather Joseph Zoeller. Joseph died in 1949 at 91 years of age. Is anyone
related to Franciscus Zoller, of Luxembourg? Particularly I would like to hear from the
Crawford County Zoellers, since they are nearby. (Franz' naturalization papers said
that he had owed allegience to the Duke of Luxembourg. We believe that he may have known
Frederick Zeller of Pleasant Township, Seneca County, Ohio; although, Fred was an
Evangelical Christian.)
