Hello! I have not started researching my Zobell connection and was
surprised to see your request. My mothers grandfather was Charles (Carl)
Zobell born in Germany in 1826. He came to this country as a teenager
and settled in St. Louis, MO. He was a shoemaker. He married May
(Marie) Hand who was also born in Germany in 1845. They married in St.
Louis, MO in 1873 and had 4 children, Freida, Katie, George and Louisa.
Freida was my grandmother.
All of this was told to me by my mother. Someone told me that Zobell
(Zobel) was a very common name in Germany.
