The message below was posted earlier on the Zinn Ancestry Message Board
for gateway onto the Zinn-L mailing list.
I am seeking information on Hans George Zinn, who arrived in
Philadelphia 16 Oct. 1754 on the ship Peggy. I believe he may be related
to my gx3 grandfather John Zinn b. Berks Co PA in 1763. A fellow
passenger on the Peggy was John Frederick Linck. Linck was the maiden
name of John Zinn’s mother, and I am trying to make connections between
Linck and Zinn families.
John Zinn’s uncle was also named John Linck. He and his wife Catharine
are known to have belonged in 1770 to the same Epler German Reformed
Church in Bern Twp of Berks Co PA. as Jacob and Catharine Zinn, who
apparently lived also in Cocalico Twp of Lancaster Co.
The Jacob Zinn of Cocalico Twp (and apparently Berks Co.) reportedly
emigrated on the ship Edindburgh on 15 Sept. 1749.
I am wondering if Hans George Zinn and Jacob Zinn are related to each
other and other emigrants, and indeed also to John Zinn b. 1763 in Berks
Co.
Can anyone help?
