Subject: [Zinn] ZINN Family Photograph
I've "rescued" an old photograph of James Reed ZINN which was taken at the
Alice Gardiner Studio in Valley Falls, Kansas. The photograph appears to
have been taken in the early 1900's with James appearing to be less than 1
year old at the time the photograph was taken. In addition to his name,
someone has written "To Aunt Bert & Uncle John" on the back of the
photograph.
Based on limited research I was able to locate James and his family as
follows:
James Reed ZINN b. 8 Feb 1910 in Denison, KS, married Hazel Rebecca STRAWN
(b. 15 Nov 1910 in Valley Falls, KS) on 2 Jul 1936 in Holton, KS. Together
they had two children. James died 7 Feb 1994. Census records provide the
following information:
1920 census of Delaware Township, KS:
William H. ZINN, age 53, born WV, parents born WV, a Farmer
May ZINN, wife, age 40, born MO, parents born PA/VA
James Reed ZINN, son, age 9, born KS
I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old
treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this
family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
