Hi Danny,
My name is Sue, not Tamara?
According to his gravestone in Miles Cemetery, Seth Paine died 6 May 1865 at the age of
90y 2m 13d. He is buried next to his first wife, Deborah, who died in 1819, and two
children: Elizabeth d/o S&D Paine (1yr) and Sears (Searl?) s/o S&N Paine (1m).
There are no legible dates on the stones of the children.
I have been unable to locate the grave of Nancy. She may have been buried with her first
husband, Felix Grimes, or possibly with her parents/family - these could be in Vinton
County near Wilkesville. Another possibility - in the McCormick Cemetery located on what
had been the McCormick Farm (there is an indication of several graves that no longer have
stones). This is where Rebecca Paine Giles McCormick is buried, with her 2nd husband
(George Albert).
In 1850, I have Nancy and Seth residing with Andrew and Rebecca Giles (their daughter) and
they are recorded as Nancy and Seth Giles.
In 1860, I have Nancy and Seth residing nextdoor to R Giles and family. R is Rebecca,
Andrew passed away prior to 1860 census - I do not know where he is buried.
I have found no record of Nancy in the 1870 census - leading to the assumption that she
passed away between 1860 and 1870. She would have been between 75 and 85.
Seth and Nancy's daughter Rebecca was my gg-grandmother. What is your connection to
the Paines and Zinns?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
