I would like to hear from anyone with ZINKs in Russia. My great-great
grandmother, Julianna ZINK, was born about Feb. 1852 in Russia; I'm not
sure where, though I suspect it was in one of the German colonies in the
Beresan district (near what is now Odessa, Ukraine). I don't have her
parents' names or siblings' names.
About 1870 she married Josef Frank IMMEL in Landau, Russia. They had six
children: Marianne, Georg, Anna, Franciscus, Margaretha and Wendelina, born
between 1871 and 1886.
Sometime in the 1890s they emigrated from Russia to Archer County, Texas.
Josef Frank died before 1900 (I'm not even sure if he made it to the U.S.).
In the 1900 census Julianna is living with her daughter Marianna,
Marianna's husband, Josef VEITENHEIMER, and their kids.
Does this look familiar to anyone? :)
