I don't have any Zinks there that early. Mine are early 1900s. I have
Zinks that came through Pittsburgh, PA to western Ohio (Auglaize County
mostly). One branch moved Missouri->Montana->Idaho and then some of them on
to Utah and California; and One branch moved to Columbia TN (I don't have
any info on them, I just know that Matthias died there). They originated in
Baden Germany.
Oh Hey! I just checked Dora Zink Kelloggs book on the Zinks in America.
Your Benjamin is listed. He and "Manurva" Wood had 12 children (though
unfortunately it only lists details on one A.M. Zink), so I'm assuming you
haven't seen this source since you list only 9.
It also says he is the son of Abraham Zink who lived near Des Moines IA and
went to Oregon about 1868 to live with one of his sons. In 1783 he was
living in Berks Co., PA.. Benjamin's brother is Ed Zink that was living
near Scio, Linn Co., OR at the time of the compilation of this book (1933).
Rumors have it that there are some pretty significant errors in this book,
though I haven't found any major ones on my family. But, like yours, my
Zinks aren't from the big Zink families in PA or VA and only has a 2-3 page
chapter as well. I guess there are fewer people to make mistakes on!
If you would like to send me a fax number or your address, I'll send you a
copy of the three pages that cover this Zink family in the book.

Subject: Zink Family in Oregon
Hi!
I'm looking for Benjamin F. Zinks (1829-1886) and his family. Benjamin
married Minerva Wood in Oregon about 1856. They had children: William,
John, Violleta, Alfred, Willis, Frances, B.F., Alice and Emma. I would
appreciate any help you might be able to give me on this family.
Kathy
