This is a reply to a posting from several years ago ...

I am interested in the family of Celestine Zinck
b 1822 France; married 1847 Dayton, Montgomery
Co., OH to Rachel Regina Lehmann (aka Lehman).
He died 1896 in Dayton. At one time he owned a
grocery store in Dayton.
It's possible you've acquired all you need for this family ... and most of what I
have is generally available through censuses, city directories and other traditional
genealogical sources.
What I have that's somewhat unique, and possibly helpful in your quest, are the
following:
- Pictures of the family burial plots in Calvary cemetery,
with Celestine's children's families in close proximity
- Newspaper articles linking this family with the surnames
Saettel, Wever, Allhoff and Egetter
Some of the newspaper stories provide substantial detail as to the lives and times of
these families.
What I DON'T have is the exact relationship between Celestine and my gg grandfather
Joseph Zinck (born 1820 in France, died 1855). I suspect they are brothers or cousins,
but can't verify.
Many other issues beg to be addressed. Let me know if you think we can help each other.
Thanks!
