I believe there could be a connection between "my" Zink family and yours,
but I am not sure.
My great-great-grandfather was Ferdinand Zink. He had a brother whose name
was Charles (wife Hermine). Ferdinand had three sons and a daughter. One
son was named Albert, born in 1877 in Michigan. Ferdinand (wife Johanna
Schroeder) and his brother, Charles, arrived in the US about 1873. They
lived very briefly in Ionia, Michigan and then moved to the Petoskey area.
They are both listed in the 1870 census of Emmet County, but after that
Charles moved to Iosco County. He was quite prominent there. I know that
these two came from the Sarbske region of Lauenburg Kreis in Pommern
(Pomerania).
If you think there could be a connection, please let me know. I would be
happy to share what I have.
