Dear Shari:
When I look at the names...they are the same names, only in different
order...which leads me to believe that they indeed could be related!!! It
was customary for families to repeat given names. I'd like to get a
generation back further and see if perhaps the connection might be that
your Johann and my Julius Ferdinand might not be brothers??????? Johann in
1839 and Ferd in 1836... could very well be. There are Zimmerman families
in Wood County too. I wonder if any of them are on the list. Some of the
Zimmermanns in our line kept the double nns and Bob's line, dropped it.
Uncle Elmer really got ticked over that!!! Oh well.... As I continue to
post to the various lists, I'll be picking up more info on other lines, and
if I find anything, I'll let you know. I just got online and haven't even
found all the good sites yet and haven't registered the Zimmerman line yet
in any of the good major sites... so hopefully once I get 'out there', more
info will come back!! Glad to hear I have a fellow Zimmerman researcher
here!!!!! Since Bob's Aunt Frieda stopped recording the family history,
it's been just me. Patti

Patti,
I was hoping we had a connection seeing we are from the same town. But
it doesn't look like it. :( My Zimmermanns were from the opposite side of
town (sixth ward and town of Scott.
My grandfather John Zimmerman (he dropped one n from his name as did
two
other brothers in Merrill. But the other 3 kept the double n). Reason
unknown
to us.
Am looking for g grandparents.
