Cheryl Baker,
My Zimmermans came over from Germany ca. 1880. Oral history has them coming from
Westphalia but since they ultimately settled in Westphalia, Shelby Co., Iowa I am
suspicious of the accuracy of the oral history version concerning their area of origin in
Germany. My Zimmermans consisted of Lawrence (1830-1917) and Elizabeth (nee Boelke,
1835-1929). Census records indicate that Elizabeth had nine children of whom all were
alive as of 1900. I only know of two of the children: Clemes (1854-1946, died single) and
Josephine Zimmerman Daley Kuske (ca.1869-1942) who is my great grandmother. I recently
learned of Josephine's death date and am in the process of locating an obituary from
which I hope to learn names of her other siblings. Why don't you give names of those
you have to see if there is a possibility of a connection.

Hi,
Just subscribed 1/23 and am searching for info on my Zimmerman line.
Have info on them in Jefferson & Dane Counties. I have been told that
they came from Plagow, Arnswalde, Brandenburg, Germany sometime after
the 1880's. Can anyone help.
