No, I don't think it's in a library. I bought it from Russell and Edna
Zimmerman themselves. Someone else gave out their address. Maybe you
caught that message. I was reluctant to post it to the list. It's
really not a book, per se. It's about 200 pages, typewritten and
photocopies, in a three-ring binder. And it seems to have quite a bit
of documentation. I initally had sent out a blind inquiry letter and
they responded and I bought the book. My Zimmermans don't link up to
their's.
Yes, I have Zimmermans in Ohio. And I'm still looking for his parents.
My great-grandfather is George W. Zimmerman b. 16 Mar 1823 in Ross
County, Ohio, d. 10 Jan 1895 in Center Point, Linn County, Iowa.
Married second Maria(h) Jane Church (b. 5 May 1845, d. 17 apr 1916 in
Allen County, Ohio) on 23 Feb 1862 in Center Point, Linn County, Iowa.
He arrived in Iowa in 1854, and I have a Pioneer Certificate for him
from the Linn County Heritage Hunters. George and Maria had 11
children. My grandfather was their youngest. George also had a first
wife, Sarah Jane Saxton, whom he married in 1849 in Hardin County,
Ohio. She died before 1860 in Iowa. They had 3 children, G.W.,
Isabella, and Joseph. First 2 were born in Ohio, last one in Iowa.
