Zimmerman, William Warren
William Warren Zimmerman Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather William Warren Zimmerman,
81, 1743 Fairmont Parkway, died Fri., Nov. 2, 2007, at the VA Medical Center. He was born
July 3, 1926 in Reynoldsville, Pa., son of the late John and Hettie Zimmerman McAdoo. He
was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II and earned a Bronze Star. He was a supervisor
for Erie Yellow Cab for 25 years and worked for Conrail for over 15 years retiring as a
car inspector. Mr. Zimmerman was a member of Luther Memorial Church, Siebenbuerger and
Zukor Clubs and the Alliance of Transylvania Saxons. He enjoyed woodworking, doing
puzzles, reading, and traveling with his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith
Zimmerman in 1986; a daughter, Brenda Zimmerman in 1958; and one brother. Survivors
include his wife of 58 years, Mabel Irene Bronson Zimmerman; daughter, Karen Greenawalt
and husband Clair of Zelienople, Pa.; two grandsons, Matthew and Brian Greenawalt of
Zelienople, Pa.; and sev!
eral nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday 2 to 6 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home,
2104 Myrtle St. A service will be held there Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David A.
Connor of Luther Memorial Church officiating. Burial will be at Wintergreen Gorge
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Fund, C/O the Erie
Community Foundation, 127 W. 6th St. Erie, PA 16501; or to the American Heart Assoc., 823
Filmore Ave., Erie, PA 16505.
