For hihosilverstar1,
I have been working on my ancestor Lt Berhardt Zimmerman PGT (Berks/ Schuylkill county Pa
for over 25 years and still going strong.
I took some time off but getting back into my research.
Bernhardt Zimmerman has more children that you have.
I have all his children and families.
Working on his death date the one listed is not his death date, researching his two wills
and what I found in the ST Peter's Lutheran and German Reform church minutes at the
time 1815 thru 1818 were very lean.
Bernhardt was starting to get his affairs in order in 1815,
with his properties, he had surveryor book listed in his estate papers plus he did have a
bible, and listed what he had in clothing, he was upper class, he wore glasses, had many
books, leaving everything to his wife Eva,he written in the will that Eva/wf. doesn't
have to answer to the excuctors ( his three sons) Johanne(my 4th great), Henrich and Jacob
and can do what will.
He did write that when Eva dies all land and estate goes to
son Johanne (my 4th great ) he had a few siblings that died before him. Johanne/ JOhn died
in 1849. Still looking for documents on Johanne Zimmerman, son Peter Zimmerman(1798-1883)
(my 3rd great grandfather) took over his fathers taxes.
I took a class on finding more on your ancestors, Will, Estates and so on. The instructor
said ,I'm right on target but because that all his children and grandchildren were
listed and recieving money, will I knew what was coming next from the instructor, I have
to research out all of the names listed to see if Bernhardt Zimmerman estate kept on going
and it did, so far to 1838,but not done with all his lstings.
Like Bernhardt's father, Berhnardt gave his sons their inheritance early. His sons
Jacob , Henrich and Johanne were being sued over land and lost it by judgement, son Jacob
didn't want to be found, recorded by sibling, Philip Zimmerman ,died 1845, his nephew,
William Zimmerman, excutor was order by the judge to list all of Philips' siblings and
their husbands and children etc., Williams state that JAcob didn't want to be found.
I'm wondering if Bernhardt Zimmerman land off from Fredreick Schnoke land at the foot
of Blue Mt Schuylkill, I was told by Late Carl Schnoke in the 1990's (letter) that
Howard Lengle/Lengel owned Bernhardt Zimmerman land.
are you a descendant of Bernhardt Zimmerman (1744-1817)?
