This is another Donald Zimmerman. My GGGG Grandfather Johan Jost Zimmerman
was one of the 3 listed Zimmermans on that sailing of the Patience. We have
traced him back a couple of generations before to Siegen, Westphall
(Westphalia) which is east of Cologne. This was all done by Jay Norwalk of
Maine in writing our book. We certainly do want to know if Johan Peter and
Christian Zimmerman were related to Johan Jost.

Is anyone on this mailing list working on his family line?
I am, as you know from previous correspondence, but not very diligently
right
now.
P. S. I'm a lost Zimmerman with no connection to the Mother Land.
Our ancestors made researching them difficult by arriving so early!
According
to Strassburger & Hinke, "Pennsylvania German Pioneers," the Patience
carried
immigrants from "the Palatinate & Duchy of Wirtenberg." If we can prove
that
Johann Peter is indeed our forebear, maybe we could start by digging through
some of the references for those localities listed at
<
http://www.genealogy.net/gene/www/emig/emigrati.htm>, "German and American
Sources for German Emigration to America," and similar sources.
