ALEDO, Ill. -- David D. Zimmerman, 81, Aledo formerly of Eliza, Ill. and New Boston, Ill.,
died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at the Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.
Service College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Aledo. The Rev. Carl Stoldt will officiate.
Burial will be at Eliza Creek Cemetery.
Visitation at the Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to College Avenue
Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Zimmerman was born April 19, 1921, in Eliza Township, the son of Joseph and Agnes
Sellnau Zimmerman. He married Margaret C. Farrell Feb. 24, 1962, in Galesburg, Ill.
He received his education from Eliza and New Boston schools.
He farmed with his family on the family farm and was briefly employed as a machinist at
Farmall, Rock Island, Ill.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II and returned to the New Boston and
Eliza area where he rented area farms and worked in the winter for the H.J. Heinz Company,
Muscatine. He also was employed during the summer months by the Muscatine Railroad and
worked for the Huttig Sash and Door Company, Muscatine.
He was a member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Eliza American Legion and the
Eliza Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; five sisters, Frances Landers of Oneida, Aileen Andress of
Aledo, Betty Bull of Rock Island, Lois Folck of Oshkosh, Wis. and Virginia Bratton of
Westfield, Wis.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

ALEDO, Ill. -- Margaret C. Zimmerman, 85, Aledo, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, at Mercer
County Hospital, Aledo.
Service at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. The Rev. John Thieryoung will
officiate. Burial will be at St Joseph's Cemetery, Galesburg, Ill. The Rev. Ernie
Pizzamiglio will officiate.
Visitation is at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to St.
Catherine's Catholic Church.
Mrs. Zimmerman was born on Sept. 23, 1917, in Galesburg, the daughter of William and
Lillian Cassidy Farrell. She married David Zimmerman on Feb. 24, 1962, in Galesburg. He
preceded her in death on April 28, 2002.
She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy, Galesburg, and attended Brown's Business
College, Galesburg.
She was a secretary for the U.S. Federal Government in both the War Department and the
Department of Agriculture. She later worked for the Better Business Service of Galesburg
and the Continental Grain Company, New Boston, Ill., retiring in 1983.
She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Lillian Stephan and Helen Malley, both of Galesburg; five
sisters-in-law, including Aileen Andress of Aledo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and four brothers.

NEW BOSTON, Ill. -- Fred LaVerne Zimmerman 78, New Boston, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at
Mercer County Hospital, Aledo, Ill.
Service at the United Methodist Church, Joy, Ill. The Rev. Richard Bishop will officiate.
Burial will be at the Peniel Cemetery, rural Joy.
Visitation at the Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, where memorials may be left to Serenity
Hospice or Joy United Methodist Church.
Mr. Zimmerman was born on Oct. 26, 1924, in New Boston, the son of Joshua and Vivian Sloan
Zimmerman. He married Phyllis Crawford on Dec. 11, 1949, in Aledo. She preceded him in
death in 1980. He later married Ella 'Renne' McGinnis April 26, 1984, in Joy.
He graduated from New Boston High School and attended Brown's Business School,
Galesburg, Ill.
After his schooling he was employed at the Joy State Bank and farmed in the New Boston
area for more than 50 years. He also sold Burrus Seed Corn for several years.
He enjoyed wintering in Arizona, loved dancing, shuffleboard and playing pool.
Survivors include his wife, Renne; three daughters, Karen Russell and her husband, Donnie,
of New Boston, Kathy Welch and her husband, Greg, of Keithsburg, Ill., and Jan Vipond of
Aledo; a son, Ronald Zimmerman and his wife, Rhonda, of New Boston; two stepchildren,
Diane Peterson of Dixon, Ill., and Thomas Duane McGinnis of Illinois City, Ill.; 12
grandchildren; five step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six step
great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Crawford of Aledo.
He was preceded in death his parents, his first wife and a brother.

LILLIAN, Ala. -- George J. Zimmermann Jr., 72, of Lillian, formerly of Middletown and
Southington, Ala. died Oct. 20, 2001, at his home.
Memorial service at First Church of Christ in Middletown.
Mr. Zimmermann was born July 7, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wis., the son of George Sr. and Martha
Faye Lloyd Zimmermann.
He was a 1948 graduate of Durant High School in Durant.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was active in the Lillian Volunteer Fire Department. He was a retired member of Local
No. 478.
Survivors include his wife, Natalie Zimmermann of Lillian; his mother, Martha Faye
Zimmermann of Iowa City; sisters, Dorothy Sywassink of Iowa, Martha Novak and Rose Mary
Muller, both of Wisconsin and Sara Jane Howard of Washington; children, Julie Hurlburt and
her husband, Chuck, of Rocky Hill, Conn., Randy Zimmermann and his wife, Susie, of
Georgia, Ellie Gagnon and her husband, Doug, of Middletown and Victoria Zimmermann of
Portland; three stepchildren, Sandy Burgos and her husband, Carlos, Sheila Pierce and her
husband, Tom, and Tawn Green; grandchildren, Kristina, Jennifer, Vanessa, Jason, Georgie,
Samantha, Joseph, Tawn, Robert, Jennifer, Tina, Michael, Carlos, Rinaldo, Oliver and
Javier; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; his first wife, Catherine; and a son, George III.
