I am asking a question regarding information if anyone knows about the
following people: A Thomas Zimmerman, Farmer listed on Plymouth County
1870 Census on Family History Department He is listed with a Jacob Noah,
Frank George and Charley also a Welbe
ages 11, 19, 14, 11, 5 and 2 progressively. The names of Jacob, Noah,
Frank George are all familiar and if Welbe is short for William it fits
completely the John Jacob Zimmerman and Therese
Merrymann family that came to Merrill-Melbourne in 1867 or 1868 and John
Jacob died in 1869. Jacob died shortly after this census in a drowning
accident. A 1980 Census shows Noah has married Fredericka
maiden name unknown She came from Wisconsin and her parents from
Saxony, Germany. I believe it to be Neumeister Their children were John
Jacob b. 1876 Ida b. 1880, Ella, b. 1880, Carrie b. 1883,
Lydia b. 1886 Rossie, 1888, and Lucele, 1896. I found these people came
from Hessen Wurtenberg, Germany. Are there any other Zimmermans in Hessen
Wurtenberg or Darmstasdt that we could contact when we go to Germany for
more information this summer? Thank You.
