I have no exact dates for her birth or death. I am assuming that she died
with the birth of her third child. But whether it was at the exact time or
day of his birth or if she lingered for a day or so or even weeks, I have no
idea. She died before the 1850 census so she is not listed on it but Peter's
new wife is whom he married in July. Levan, the third child, was born either
May 7 or 17 of 1850. Polly and Peter never married until 1846 so she
wouldn't be on the 1840 census which wouldn't have listed her anyway. I can find
no info on her except family records that say they were married and that she
gave Peter three sons, two of whom died very soon after birth -- the 1st one
w/i 2 1/2 months and the 2d within a week of birth. Levan is the only one who
survived.
So far, I have found no Zimmerman's in the direct area of where Peter and
Polly were living and am still working on this line. I have been working of
late however, on Peter's father William who lived in Penfield, Monroe Co. NY as
I have found another Makeley relative who is working the same line. We
think we have connected our two families, however, we have no concrete proof at
this time. Polly has always been a mystery and brick wall for me. Everyone
in the family who is working on this line agrees, that she is most elusive.
