he cannot be reached.
In clearning out my mother's house, I found a letter addressed to my brother from Mr.
Zimmerman. He explained that our family name was that of his gg grandmother and he was
researching the line. Because the name DENTEL is quite rare (his term), he contacts anyone
in a major city he finds with that name. Unfortunately, my brother not knowing much family
history passed the letter on to my mother, who was getting old and not too interested in
genealogy anyway.
I would like to compare records with anyone having that information, as the very
abbreviated genealogy Mr. Zimmerman did was the best information I have ever found on the
old country (Germany.)
Thanks for any information anyone can give me.

Gary J. Zimmerman did quite a bit of research in Germany and authored
several works. I have one of his works that he co-authored with Johni
Cerny named Before Germanna that was written May 1990. In this book he
writes of several families that migrated with "The Second Germanna
Colony" which settled in Virginia. Of interest to you he writes about
Chistopher Zimmerman. You will find more information from the following
web sites.
