Kathy; Just checked all the names you have listed and on my Father's side,
most of his Zimmerman's seem to come from Erie CO., Montgomery Co. & Herkimer
CO, NY. Some from Germany. Also mentioned several Schuyler's and some
Becks, and Furman (Furhman). If you would like to check my sight out you can go
to
Rootsweb.com and choose Zimmerman on Leongladys-3 sight and see if we have
any connections. Thanks for contacting me. Gladys Clark, White Hall, AR

Dear Gladys Leon (and list members),
Just saw your note re the ZIMMERMAN family photograph.
Are any of your ZIMMERMANS from Utica, Port Leyden or Lyons Falls or Newton
Falls, NY?
Our first ZIMMERMANS in America were Mathias (c 1790) and Lany (Magdelena)
(c1800) whom, we believe, came from Baden about 1853 with their children
Mathias (Matthew), Rosa, Mary, and Catherine.
Matthew (b1828) married Lany (Magdelena) FURHMAN and lived in Utica. One of
his children married a GANGDORFF (? spelling) in Utica. Simon ZIMMERMAN and
Agatha ULRICH were godparents for two of his children. Johannes and Barbara
ZIMMERMAN were godparents for another child.
Rosa ZIMMERMAN'S married name in 1893 was Schuyler. She was born about 1836.
I think her married name might have been SCHREIGLER in earlier years. She
had two daughters that we are aware of. They were Lena and Nellie SCHUYLER or
SCHREIGLER. Lena married a man surnamed LEON.
Either Rose ZIMMERMAN SCHUYLER/SCHREIGLER or her sister Mary ZIMMERMAN
BECK lived for a time in Port Leyden, NY.
Mary ZIMMERMAN (b1826) married Lawrence BECK. Their daughter Mary married a
FISHER and another daughter Mayo married a SPRINGSTEEN.
We believe some of Mary ZIMMERMAN BECK's family and some of Rosa ZIMMERMAN
SCHUYLER/SCHREIGLER'S went to Camden, NY. We have a FISHER photo from
Philadelphia.
Catherine (? DOB) married Baltus/Balthazar UNSELD/UNSEL. Upon his death she
married a HOOVER.
We have many old ZIMMERMAN photos without names. Many of the older
generations of ZIMMERMANS are buried in New Forest Cemetery in Utica, NY.
I was wondering if there was a connection.
Sincerely,
Kathy Unsel Gillis
