Tina,
I failed to respond to your previous message on the message board. So, I'm thankful
for the opportunity to repeat what I wrote about the TX death certificate IMAGES that can
be found at FamilySearch . . . . . for others who may not know about this great resource.
Hopefully, you can find the actual death certificate for your father-in-law in your
belongings. If not, you can download the scanned image of the actual DC at FamilySearch.
Go to:
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/#start
Then, click the map for "Canada, USA, and Mexico".
Then, click "Texas Deaths, 1890-1976" and search for the DC you need.
After years of paying for certified copies of TX death certificates, I now am able to
download the images for free. I don't need 'certified' copies. So, I'm
very thankful to have images of the documenta and the info they contain without spending
money I cannot afford to spend for more than I need.
Good luck with your search and .....
(:~ HAPPY HUNTING ~:)
Janice
