Noah Zimmerman, renowned historian and genealogist of Juniata County, PA was born on
01Apr1923 in Monroe Township, Juniata County, and died on 30Jan2004 from prostate cancer.
Noah was the son of Adam G. and Mary Elizabeth Lauver, Zimmerman. Anyone know Noah's
ancestors back to the emigrant?
I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on knowing Noah Zimmerman for anything in the
world. I met him about 30 years ago...linked to my obsession with genealogy. I visited
Noah at the Historical Center near Richfield, PA where he had served as director since the
center's inception in 1978. I also visited him on his farm, particularly in the
spring, and there I would find him in the fields where he would be looking at the
wildflowers, listening to the spring warblers sing, and appreciating all aspects of
nature. Noah was a saintly man, kind, patient, caring, and he always remembered everyone
he had met. He had helped thousands of people find information and learn more about their
ancestors. Noah Zimmerman will be sorely missed by many people who had the pleasure of
knowing him, and many generations in the future will benefit from his work as a historian
and genealogist. I have never known a finer man than Noah Zimmerman.
