I too am new to this list business, so if I am doing things
incorrectly
please let me know so I can correct it.
Hello Al, I am related also to Zimmerman and Thompson from Ontario
Canada. Do hope you are in my line.
I have 3 John Thompson's in my file from Canada.
1) I have a John Thompson b ca 1859, married a Soalome
Zimmerman, year
- I don't know. They lived in St. Catherine Canada in 1917. Soalome is the
daughter of Rev. Peter "Tailor" Zimmerman, (My Great-grandparents) who is
mentioned below. I don't have a record on John's parents, so don't know if
he is from our Thompson line or not.
I have a Alice Thompson who married Jacob "Jake" Zimmerman in Canada in
1868. Jake was born 1844, Alice born 1852. I have no Alice with her maiden
name of Zimmerman.
Jacob "Jake" was son of Rev. Peter "Tailor" Zimmerman(b. 1819)
and
Catherine Ebersole (b.1827) This couple is my Great Grandparents.
My Grandparents, Samuel Zimmerman b.1865 in Ontario was also son of
Rev. Peter "Tailor" Zimmerman. Samuel married Julia Anne Thompson, daughter
of John T. Thompson (who is mentioned below). Julia was born in 1865 in
Canada also. They had one son whom they named Clayton, which is very close
to your spelling of Claydon.
2) I have a John T. Thompson b.1824 who married (My Great Grandmother)
Nancy Vanderveer b.1845 in Canada. I presume they were married in Canada
because his children by 1st wife and also he and Nancy's children born in
Canada. John T. Thompson was quite a lot older than his 2nd wife Nancy, (my
great-grandmother)
3) John T. Thompson, b. 1824 had a son by the name of John also. He
was a child from his 1st marriage. I have nothing on him. (I have wondered
if this son John is the one who married Soalome)
I will anxiously await your reply. Allie
