Surname: Zimmermann, Kroeckenberger, Loos, Kleinhans, Allenbach, Moser,
Schmitt, Eisenberger
-------------------------
This Zimmermann line originates from Ludwigshoehe, Rheinhessen, Hessen,
Darmstaedt, Germany. The following are the ones who immigrated to my knowledge.
I may be missing some family members. Here are the ones I have found so
far:
Heinrich b. April 1, 1832 m. Katherine Kroeckenberger
John Zimmermann b. Aug. 16, 1834 m. Christina Loos
Philipp Zimmermann b. About 1843 m. Magdalena Kleinhans
Conrad Zimmermann b. October 16, 1846 m. Anna Allenbach
Adam Zimmermann b. About 1850 m. Rosine Moser
The above listed are the children of Jacob & Anna Maria (Schmitt) Zimmermann
Anna migrated over, having come to America with Adam when he was a teen.
This was a while after her other 4 sons were already settled here. I believe
she may have come after she became a widow or perhaps became a widow while
enroute to the U.S. as there is no indication of Jacob coming over.
In addition Jacob had a brother named John who, I believe migrated to the
U.S. first. Jacob's brother John was born June 11, 1817 and married Christina
Elisabetha Eisenberger in Ludwigshoehe, Rheinhessen, Hessen, Darmstaedt,
Germany.
Most settled in Wisconsin but branched out from there. Philipp was last
known to be in Nebraska in June of 1900. Adam settled in Marathon County,
Wisconsin and branched to Illinois and beyond. The rest of the Zimmermann's
listed above stayed in the Sheboygan County, Wisconsin area.
If any of this looks familiar, I would love to exchange information.
