I sure wish I was related, but I don't think so. But the name Stone
intrigues me. My half-sister's Mom was a Genereux and her sister, Lucille,
married a Steve Stone, who was in the army with my father, James William
Zimmerman, named for his maternal grandfather. This would have been around
the 1930s.
Then on to the surname Fletcher. My natural grandmother (I never knew her
because my grandpa divorced her long before I was born) married Earl
Fletcher in Denver, Colorado in 1930. Her name was Bessie or Betty. Her
maiden name was Harford. She married Walter L. Zimmerman in Kansas in 1909.
They divorced and when she married Earl Fletcher, her name on the marriage
certificate was Betty Griffin. I wonder if any of these names are familiar
to you? If so, please contact me. Thanks.
Rita

Message Board Post:
In researching my Stone family I have acquired a great deal of information
on Lucy Ann. She was born on 14 September 1825, the first child of John and
Tabitha Fletcher Stone. John is my 3rd great grandfather. Lucy Ann married
James Madison Stiff on 15 June 1843, and I have documented 9 children for
this couple. James died in May, 1860, and Lucy Ann married William
Zimmerman on 11 April 1861. I have documented one child from this marriage,
but it is possible that they had one other. The couple eventually separated
and Lucy Ann and her son Nathan Zimmerman moved to Indiana where Nathan was
married, and Lucy along with the new family settled in North Dakota.
My purpose for this post is to find someone who is descended from Lucy Ann
who would like to have the pictures, letters she wrote, and so much other
information about her. I am at a point where I can not longer keep every
thing that I collected when I was researching this family. I can not bring
myself to just toss is away as surely there is someone who would treasure
it.
If you are descended from this lady, please contact me so that I can mail
you the info that I have. There is no charge. Thank you. Yvonne
