AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral
Homes, Austintown Chapel, for John N. Zimmerman, 80, who died Thursday afternoon at home
surrounded by his family.
John was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) to William and Andrea
(Bedel) Zimmerman.
He worked as a truck driver for Teamsters Local No. 377 for over 30 years until retiring
in 1987.
John was a member of Eagle's No. 3298, the Croatian Lodge No. 66, the V.F.W. No. 4237,
Catholic War Vets, and the John J. Buckley Post.
His wife, the former Myrtle E. Kegley, whom he married Aug. 10, 1953, died April 12,
1995.
John is survived by his companion, Jeri Herman; three daughters, Debra L. (Mark)
Grombacher of Austintown, Ohio, Margie J. (Jack) Willings of Youngstown and Judith A.
(Mike) Dolecki of Austintown; two sons, John N. Zimmerman of Austintown, Ohio and Richard
A. Zimmerman of Youngstown; two brothers, Bill Zimmerman of South Carolina and Henry
Zimmerman of Youngstown; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Donna M. Zimmerman; sister, Jean Gallagher;
and brother, Glen Zimmerman.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the
funeral home.
Burial will take place Monday at Brunstetter Cemetery at 11 a.m.
The family wanted to especially thank the staff at Southern Care Hospice for the
dedication and care given to their father.
