Carl Zimmerman Sr.
Carl Joseph Zimmerman Sr., 77, of Nashport, Ohio died on 10:40 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011.
He was born May 15, 1934, in Kantner, PA., a son of the late Charles W. and Elizabeth
Berkebile Zimmerman.
He retired as a supervisor for Thrift Drug Co. He was a member of the Coburn United
Methodist Church, where he served as usher for many years and where he was known as the
"Candy Man."
He was a lifetime member of the Zanesville Optimist Club. After his retirement, he owned
and operated a post card and souvenir business. He was a United States Marine Corps Korean
Conflict Veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Kathleen Juillerat Zimmerman, whom he married
September 12, 1964; two daughters, Dianna (Robert) Jaqua of Noblesville, IN and Tammy
(Chris) Raymond of Nashport, Ohio; a son, Carl Joseph (Heidi) Zimmerman Jr. of Nashport; a
sister, Mary Jane (Bill) Hay of Galveston, IN; three brothers, Robert Zimmerman of
Cleveland, Dennis (Rose) Dryburg of Lawton, OK and Barry Dryburg of Somerset, PA; and two
grandchildren, Shelby and Camren Zimmerman of Nashport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the
Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville and one hour prior to services at
the church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Coburn United
Methodist Church, 3618 Maple Ave., Zanesville with Dr. Dennis J. Baker officiating. Carl
will be laid to rest at Irville Cemetery, near Nashport. VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will
hold full military rites at the graveside.
