In Bellevue Cemetery, that is James F. Zimmerman, John F. son. He is my great-great
grandfather. He did not die in the war. The records of Bellevue suggest that he died of
an illness in 1862. There must have been a sleepy census taker in 1849. It lists James
F., the oldest as John and lists John as James.
James F. was the County Clerk of Boyle County. He was clerk when the bourthouse cuaght
fire in 1850. John F. was believed to have sold the newspaper after James' death.
All of James F.'s sons were apprenticed as printer. I know that James and John used
that skill, but I can't be sure of William.
You might want to check my family tree. I have three of the death notices for John F.
from 1885.
