Your web site does not look active now.
I am looking into families with surnames of Zimmerman(n), Koch, Sitler, Yarian, Wilhelm, Augustine, Wetzel, May, Sheets, Wilkin, and Huffman plus their ancestors (mostly German and largely from Wuerttemberg) who lived in the eastern Ohio region around Fairfield, Mahoning and Columbiana Counties, Ohio during the period from the 1700s to the present.
If you think we can tie together information that each of us needs but does not now have, let me know!
- Bye from Bill Howard

Hello….as I was searching in Rootsweb for some of my family names I happened across your search for this Surname. I have compiled a book of Pioneer’s of Medina County, Ohio and remembered that I have seen this name in my search for my book.
This book covers newspaper articles, wedding, deaths, mini biographies, court records, cemetery records for most of the cemeteries in Medina Co., and much more.. from as early as 1830’s to 1911.
Although I am bound by certain rules by my publisher, I will send along the names of those who are listed. Etta, Florence (Martin), Ivory, Lee, Les.
If you are interested in the book or would like me to look up another surname for you please let me know.
Good luck in your search….I know I have spent hours just to find one piece of my family tree puzzle.

Hi:
I subscribed to the list years ago and when I had computer problems must have
gotten deleted. So while I'm thinking about it, I will re-sub.
I was looking for Solomon Z at that time and we FINALLY found him.
Is Linda (Swan1Lyn) still on the list?

Message Board Post:
Dear Dorothy,Ihope that you haven't given up hope as Marie Zimmerman and I have made a breakthrough of sorts .Thanks to Marie's efforts and suggestions I have finally found the burial place of Emanuel andHannah(my gr.gr.gr.-grandparents).Last week I spent three days at Lockport N.Y.and found much of the help I needed at the Historian's room directly across the street from the Niagara Co.Court House. Thanks to their files on obituaries, marriages and church records I was able to find Emanuel and Hannah along with their sons RUDOLPH,EMANUEL JR.AND JACOB IN CEMETERIES in near proximity to Lockport. From their headstones I was able to develop a birth year for Emanuel(he died in 1847 at age 68-birth year 1779 and Hannah died in1853 at age 77-birth year1776).We now know that Esther Statts, married to RUFOUS Statts and Elizabeth Married toSolomon Boyer also lived in that part of New York State;Esther died in Wilson and Elizabeth died in Lockport.
Another error of Oliver Michaels was his listing of Roland Zimmerman, born 1794,as a son of E.&H;Emanuel was only 15 yrs.old at this time and couldn't have been Rolands father.I have copies of the letters of administration filed when Emanuel died in 1847.Conveniently listed are his 8 surviving children,-John and Henry, the oldest live in Pa.,Emanuel jr.,Jacob , Rudolph and Rolandes along with Esther and Elizabeth all live in New York State.Emanueljr.and sr.,Rudolph, along with Hannah and the wives of the sons are all buried in the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery near Royalton and Jacob is buried at Schaffer's Cemetery south of Lockport.Emanuel jr.was in the Lockport area as early as 1829.Other than e&h/s obituaries I did not find any information on them in church records.Emanuel jr and Rudolph attended the 1st English Lutheran Church.I was unable to find Jacob in any church records either.Jacob was born in 1814 and died in1881.So much for your Jacob being the son of E&H! Rolandes lived!
in Medina and certainly was not the Roland of Union twp.Schuylkill co.Did you receive the information that I sent you concerning the baptism of a Jacob Zimmerman born to Mathias andPierce(Jones) Zimmerman at St.Gabriel's Episcopal Churchat Douglas ville, Amity twp.Berks Co.9 Sept. 1778?I don't know for sure whether or not this date was for his baptism or his birth.I found this tidbit at the BerksCounty Historical Society.I hope that you check this site soon;I certainly feel gratified at what I'e accomplished this last week. Many thanks to Marie for helping to put me back on course.Yours-Bob Z.
