Dear Dorothy, after a long hiatus I am finally back in the geneology saddle again.I finally have a computer and have been active on the internet contacting people who are looking for some of the same people you and I are.I rejoined the Berks County Historical Society in the hopes that some new information has surfaced that would shed some light on the origins of our Jacob and Emanuel:unfortunately,I can't report any progress in pushing our Penna.origins back any farther. Also, disturbing is the appearance on the Internet of postulated birth dates for Emanuel which just are not supported by the 1810 and 1820 censuses.I have been contacting people and have been trying to demonstrate how any date before 1776 for his natal year is just not possible.Ihave, however,a picture of my great uncle,Amos Zimmerman and his wife who is a Michael.I will send you a copy of it in the hopes that she somehow fits into that part of your family.Sorry for the long silence, but I really had nothing new !
to report.I have finally retired and will now have the time to search for information which may lie in counties outside of Berks and Schuylkill.I hope that you check on this site and that you will forgive my lack of response.Sincerely,Bob Zimmerman.E-mail zim 65 riv(a)hazleton.net
