Researching William Henry ZIMMERMAN, born 1844 in PA (age and birthplace per
censuses which are my main sources, unfortunately). Married Elizabeth Sarah
BUSH (also born PA) circa 1862. Found on 1880 PA Census living in Plymouth,
Luzerne County with the following children: Mary Jane (b. 1865), Sarah (b.
12 May 1867), William (b. circa 1869), Edward (b. 1873) and George (b. 1876).
Next found on the 1900 Census still living in Plymouth. Older children
already moved out. The children at home in 1900 were: John (b. 25 Aug
1882), Nathan (b. 17 July 1884), Frederick (b. 25 February 1886) and Carrie
(b. Jan 1888).
Nathan was my grandfather. He married Euphemia Marcy.
Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Guy,
I can't remember if I have corresponded with you previously - does John
have a sister named Barbara who married Peter Seitz (Sides?)
If so, do you know anything about her? She is my gggg grandmother.

I am looking for information on John (the elder), son of Christian Zimmerman
who came to America in 1749 on the Patience.
I tried to email a Joan @ netins.net but it gives me a permanent fatal error
notice.
I was informed by Joan that John (the elder) had the following children:
Johann Heinrich, Johann Christian, Johannes, Johannes Peter and Peter.
I would be interested in information on Johannes or Johannes Peter.

Guy: By this time, I am sure you must have heard from other researchers who
are descendants of the Christian Zimmerman that you are searching for.
Christian Zimmerman, was on the Patience 1949. I recently received word
from a "cousin" that Christian was born in Herbrechtingen, Germany. He
apparently emigrated with his son, Johannes, "John the Elder." He first
settled in Adams Co.PA in abt 1750, married Anna Maria Barbara Simon, and
fathered another 9 children.
Christian was my 5th great-grandfather, through son John the Elder.

Hello Zimmerman Listers,
I am desperately searching for a Robert Zimmerman, b in Sweden in late
1800's. He was the son of Olof Zimmerman and Mathilda Stranne Zimmerman. I
understand he may have settled in the Chicago area. His brother, Herman T.
Zimmerman was my grandfather.
~~~~~
Meanwhile, I sent for a SS application, one of those stab in the dark
situations, and received a copy of an application for a Rober I. Zimmerman,
b 4 Aug 1874. Son of Henry William Zimmerman and Paulie Eva Breternitz. If
this is your Zimmerman, I will be happy to forward the application to you.
Would just request a self addressed stamped envelope.
These were descendants of the second Germanna Colony of 1717, according to
the Germanna Record, Number 6. Page 47 says "Emma Rouse Lloyd's 'Clasping
Hands with Generations Past,' a genealogy of the Rouse family ..., gives a
fairly complete account of the eldest son, John Zimmermann, and his
descendants (pp. 47-57) ..." On p. 48 of Germanna #6, "John Zimmermann, son
of John Sr., is probably identical with a John Zimmermann with wife Susannah,
the births of whose 8 children from 1771 to 1790 are recorded in the Hebron
[Lutheran church in Orange Co, VA] records." It seems to me that these
children were born kind of late for John born 1736-38.
The author of Germanna #6 states he had a great deal of information on these
Zimmermanns and hoped to publish in the future. Now, 35 yrs later, it appears
this was never accomplished.
