Hi all,
Not much info on this person Katherine Lucinda Zimmerman b. c 1854 (per
census info) in South Carolina. Don't know her parents .Married David Samuel
Dickson. Only know of one child( I'm sure there are more) Cora Ann Dickson.
Any one know of Katherine's parents? Would have been near Greenville, SC in
1890.
Julie

Must add to this one. My Zimmermans are from Switzerland just across the
river Rhine from Germany, and have a copy of a certificate of Baptism which
states their name as Zimmerman, with only one "n." Just another wrench for

Rob,
>From what I understand, in the German speaking countries in Europe, the
spelling for Zimmermann is always with a double "nn", just like
"Neumann", "Amtmann", etc
My Zimmermann's are from Minden Westfalen-Lippe area in old Prussia,
which is now (or was) West Germany, east of Munster and south of
Hannover. I only have info on the one, my ggg grandmother who married
Johann Grune (Gurne).

As I understand the data base, it is not a listing of those who received
social security benefits. It is a listing of those for whom a social
security death benefit was paid. Also, the name has to be exact -- my
father and I have the same name, so his name has SR (for senior) behind it.
When searching the database, the SR has to be included with the surname.

I just put my father and grandfather in the rootsweb social security search
and came up with nothing. Both received social security, died in 1989 and
1995, but did find them on FTM SS cd.
