Hi Lou,
What county is Crown Hill Burial Park located in? We have Zimmermans in
OH, from Phila, PA (back to 1694). You might want to check out my
website at http://members.tripod.com/~GeneaNel/index.htm to see if you
see something familiar.
Cheers,
Nel

My g,g,grandfather was Adam Zimmerman. His wife was Anna Hoenig. They both
died in 1840. He was murdered and she had a ruptured appendix. They are
buried in Heumaden, Bavaria, Germany. I have church records to substantuate
this. Of their children we know four sons came to the U.S. of A. We think two
sisters also but have no record of married names.
One of the older sons, Johann, settled for a while near Latobe, PA. There was
a Benedictine Monastery there. He and his wife Anna ,nln, went with three of
the monks from there to Minnesota -Albany, Stearns Co. The boat they were
traveling on struck the Mississippi river bridge at Rock Island, IL/Davenport,
IA.
Defending the railroad's right to build a bridge accross the Mississippi was
one of Abraham Lincoln's first big cases as a lawyer. (1854)
Other sons of Adam came later - in 1860s. They went directly to Minnesota.
They were Joseph, Geroge and Paul (my G,grandfather). Paul's wife and the
older of their chidren (including my grandfather)came a couple of years later.
My granfather's name was George - named after his uncle. My father's name was
Gregor - born in 1898. Would have been 100 years o;d on April 6th.
I hope this makes sense to you....... More I hope we can find a common
relative.
Peace, Bob Zimmerman
