David L. Zielinski, 63, of McKean,
died unexpectedly Saturday evening, May 21, 2011, at UPMC Hamot. A resident of the Erie
area all of his life, he was born in Erie on January 23, 1948, a son of the late Leonard
S. and Ann Vlijas Zielinski.
David was a 1965 graduate of Academy High School and went on to serve in the United States
Army as a Chaplain's Assistant while stationed in Korea. He originally worked in sales
and as a manager with Western Southern Life Insurance for 19 years before becoming the
owner and operator of Marketing Edge Advertising for 23 years.
He attended First Alliance Church
and was a videographer for weddings and other special occasions for 27 years. He was an
avid Buffalo Bills fan and General McLane Lancer basketball fan. He coached his son with
Boys Baseball Little League and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Susan May Zielinski; one son, Stephen Zielinski
and his wife, Jessica, of North East; one daughter, Sandra Pascucci and her husband, Mike,
of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Raymond Zielinski of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Maureen
Stirsman and her husband, Thomas, of Atlanta, Ga.
and Patricia Baldridge and her husband, David, of Charlotte, N.C.;
and three grandchildren, Grayson, Sophia, and Madison. Many nieces and nephews also
survive. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000
Wattsburg Road, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services
there on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Wales Cemetery. Memorial
contributions can be made to First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16506.
