There is a great new Database named Poznan Project
[
http://bindweed.man.poznan.pl/posen/search.php
].
I have found the marriage index of Valentine Zielinski and Catherina
Stachowick. They were married in 1874 in Swiatkowo, Znin, Poland.
[Just like the oral story goes he was twice her age.] I have ordered
the LDS Microfilm where this record may be found. The website sourced
the index to this film. There are three films which contain records
for this area. I have ordered all three. The Baptismal Record has
arrived it has records from 1803 - 1858. I have pulled all the
Zielinski's [I think] from this film. The other two films are on back
order.
Valentine Zielinski settled in Bay County, Michigan in 1885. There
was a son named Stanley, born in Poland, whose marriage record in Bay
County, Michigan said that his father was Valentine Zielinski and
mother was Marianna Nadolny.
Valentine Zielinski had a previous marriage to Marianna Nadolny. I
did not find that marriage indexed. Yet I have found five children
born to this couple. No Stanley - but then he was born after 1858.
I have been waiting 15 years for my clue of where to look for this
family in Poland. - Yea!
Have fun all,
Pattie
