Ha ha - not so quick, Carol!
Further research by yours truly has unearthed that the Miziorkos disappeared from St.
Louis by 1920. They'd had three children die in 1913, and maybe that did it. I will
bet money they ended up in Pennsylvania.
The Piotr Gramiak who was going to St. Louis with the Zielinski and Misiorko families is
NOT in the St. Louis 1920 census. That may well have been an early stop before his going
on to PA.
I might add that a NUMBER of Gramiaks came from the small town of Helenkow (or just from
Kozowa, in general) and ended up going to Philly. Ditto with Misiorko family
members...one Misiorko, Lukasz (destined for Philly), appears to be a witness for the
baptism of a Misiorko in St. Louis!!
Moreover, an Anastasia ZIELINSKI from Helenkow was going to Philly to meet her BROTHER,
Pawel GRAMIAK... Sound familiar?
My great-granduncle Stanley Zielinski also left St. Louis for Philly. His apparent first
cousin, Josef (Joe), who'd lived with the Misiorkos, and later on his own, in St.
Louis, married, returned briefly overseas with his wife, Rosie, and on the ship back
(1922), listed his previous residence as St. Louis, but was going to Philly!
I'm tellin' ya, there is a Zielinski-Misiorko-Gramiak-St. Louis-Philly-Galicia
connection. It's just our job to figure out what it is.
