To the Ziegler List:
The ancestor I was talking about that might be from the third
brother's family was Jacob Zeigler. He was born january 14, 1740 in
Pennsylvania and died February 25, 1826. He is buried in forest Toiwnip
Cemetary, Circleville, Ohio. He estsablished his home there after
serving in the Revolutionary War.

Mary Lou,
This Jacob Ziegler you mention was born in 1740 (a relatively early date
to be born in PA which is significant). I have searched the data and
pretty much have ruled him out as a descendant of brother Michael. He
could POSSIBLY be a descendant of brother Melchior or the third unnamed
brother. Unless you have some more specific information on this Jacob
(ie. where in PA he was born, or what county he lived in) we should not
"speculate" that he was descended from the third unknown brother.
"Ziegler" was a fairly common name in PA during the early years
(1720-1780). Thanks for sharing the information you had and hope you can
make a connection!
Blessings,
