Thank you. My maiden name was Zeigler and I know my family came from
Pennsylvania just can't seem to track them down. I was told my family is
German.

My research is focused mostly upon Ziegler-Zeigler families in PA.
The vast majority of Zieglers came from southern Germany (Wurttemburg,
Baden, Palatinate, Pfalz, etc), Switzerland, and northern France (Alsace,
Lorraine). Though these are three countries today it is a very small area
of the world if you drew a circle.
Many were Mennonite, Lutheran, and Reformed, but there are some Catholic.
I don't think it is safe to make a blanket statement about where the
majority of Zieglers came from.
