Hi Leon & Bonnie, My side of the Zeiglers are from Berks Co., Pa also. I had
seen the names of Zeigler/Ziegler on the 1700-1800 Berks Co., Pa information
on the Internet, Northhampton My Philip was born in 1805 Pennsylvania. I am
in the process of tracking down his parents and his wife, Betsy Taylor
(Native American Delaware Indian) born 1813, either Pa or NJ. I do not know
if Philip had any brothers or sisters at the present moment. I do know that
he {Philip}, traveled west to Ohio and on to St. Joseph, MO, where one of his
sons was born then finally settled in Kansas, territory. I had just been out
to Kansas four weeks ago and visited his and Betsy `s along with other
members grave sites located in the 'DELAWARE CEMETERY' Lawrence, Kansas.
Philip had a son, Logan-born 1826, (a daughter named Elizabeth) Grandson
Charles-born 1867 and then Leroy {My father} born 1911.
You know it is funny, how all these names keep repeating themselves, like
Elizabeth, Philip, and Charles. Yes, and even the States like Ohio, Missouri
and Kansas territory. Where were they in Germany and what ship did they come
over on? Just curious. So many people have been researching these names but
at different dates. Bonnie, I wonder if they all were from a certain area in
Germany, like the same town or County. Yes, we have a John J --born 1890, in
our family. I do believe it is Charles brother.
You mention Isaac-born 1838, Our Zeiglers were in Kansas with the
Delaware Tribe in 1830 `s.
Another thought: Alzieg(a)hotmail.com is very helpful with information
about the Zeigler/Ziegler tree. Contact him and see if he can help you. I
have been researching 7 years now and am still trying to dig in to other
roots as well. Take care. AM1700(a)aol.com. Arlene
