Hi All --- I am searching for any information that can be supplied on
a
Wilson Ziegler living with his wife Elizabeth at the farm of Henry Guth in
South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County on the 1850 census. Wilson's
occupation was a mason and he was 25 years old. The way the entry was posted
seemed to indicate that Elizabeth was Henry Guth's daughter. Elizabeth was
listed following Henry before the younger Guth Children. Wilson and their
son Albert were listed last.
I have also found 2 records of births at Jordon Reformed Church. The first
(surname is specified as Tiegler not Ziegler) in Nov, 1849 for Albert Henry
(I strongly suspect this is my ggrandfather) and the second in 1851 for
Clayton Daniel. In the 1860 census I found Albert still living with the Guth
family and a Clayton living with another family. I have not been able to
find anything for Wilson or Elizabeth in 1860. In 1870, I found who I think
is Albert living in Montour County working as a farm Laborer on the farm of
James Boone. I was not able to find anything for Wilson, Elizabeth or
Clayton in 1870. My Ggrandfather Albert Ziegler married Amelia Swanger in
Snyder County in 1878 and was living there in 1880. Their first son born in
1879 was named Clayton.
Mike,
I believe you are getting your Alberts and Claytons mixed up based on the
birthdates and locations that you have found. Do you have any proof that the
Zieglers mentioned in your fist paragraph are related to the Zieglers
mentioned in your second paragraph, other than having a common name?
All I can help you with is your following statement...
My Ggrandfather Albert Ziegler married Amelia Swanger in
Snyder County in 1878 and was living there in 1880. Their first son born in
1879 was named Clayton.

"According to the 1900 census Albert H. ZIEGLER was born in Nov. 1848 in
Pennsylvania. Both his parents were born in Pennsylvania. He married Amelia
Frances SWANGER (b. 1858 to Isaac and Susannah SWANGER) in Adamsburg, PA
Jan, 17,1878 (Information obtained from a Swanger website). Sometime after
that they moved to Phoenixville in Chester County. Among their other
children was Walter L. Ziegler who was my Grandfather. I found them in the
1900 census in Phoenixville."

I have a record of Wilson and Albert ZIEGLER of Lehigh County, but the dates
don't match. Here it is anyway. Hope it doesn't cause additional confusion.
