I wish I had that information David but I have just started myself on this name. This
relative is my gggggrandfathers daughter -in- law who married into my Cunningham
genealogy. The name made me curious as it is German in the middle of my Scottage
Cunningham's. genealogy, who by the way entered this country through virginia.
My good news is that my Dads side is from Germany and I will look more on the name as I
work with that side. If you hear any more please keep my up to date as i will you. Thanks
for your reply. Barbara

My Great Grandfather's name was Gabriel Ziegler (born Feb 11, 1873 in Germany). I know
from oral family history that he had a brother named Christian Ziegler who was one year
older. I have a ship's passenger list from 1889 where Gabriel (16 year old) and
Christian (17 year old, born 1871 or 1872) arrived in New York on the ship Bohemia bound
from Germany. I don't know if the Gabriel and Christian Ziegler were brother's,
cousins, etc. Do you know what your relative's occupation was? The passenger manifest
listed this Christian Ziegler's occupation as "shoemaker". Don't know if
this is helpful or not, sometimes it just takes a spark to fill in the gaps. If this could
possilbly be your relative please let me know as I know virtually nothing about my great
great uncle Christian Ziegler.
