Maybe I can be your kind soul. this is what I have,
Thomas Jefferson Ziegler b.abt.1847, d.?, m.to Fannie T.
Baker on 11-24-1870, I have one daughter to this union,
Jessie Bell, no dates. Fannie came from Rock Island, WI,
Thomas died in Janesville, WI. His parents were David
(1814-?)and Sarah Ann (Swisher) Ziegler born in Franklin
Co. PA, they m.1837 in Fayetteville, PA, they had 5
issues all born in Cumberland Co. PA. Elizabeth, Thomas
J., Charles, William W., Mary Isabel. If this sounds
like your connection come on back , I will have your
line back to Germany.
Allen
Hello Debbie,
Many thanks. I received another line of Zieglers from the Cumberland Co.
Historical Society -- if I can, I would like to send you a copy (also with
some overlaps to your list). Unfortunately I still don't see where my
Thomas fits in.
There was no official marriage record -- there is an affidavit in the
Pension File saying that in 1866 no such records were kept (which doesn't
mean that maybe if I find the church in Claysville or Independence,
Washington Co., the Rev. Brownlee officiating, there might be records...)
Thomas Jefferson Ziegler died in 1903 in Ohio before official death
certificates were issued. This is why I am hoping to find either his
brother or sister who survived him in the faint hope that the parents' names
would be on their death certificates.
Thanks again.
Jeff
