Hi, Dorothy. I descend from Capt. John Hickerson, who died in Sumner County, TN in late
1790, shortly before the tragedy at Ziegler's station. John's death is documented
in several historical memoirs. He was killed while a scout with a group of militia in
pursuit of a marauding band of Indians on Smith's Fork. If you have access to
ancestry.com trees, just look mine up through the member directory. My user name is
melindahickerson, all one word. A link to my tree will be on my profile page. You'll
find all of the information from the historical memoirs and other source documents for
John Hickerson on my tree. I have yet to find any documentation to prove a relationship
between John and Christine Hickerson, but they would have been around the same age so
I'm wondering if they were siblings. John died when he was about 35. John's father
was Thomas Hickerson, who died in Warren County, KY in 1811. Anyway, I'm looking for
any records that would indicate Christine was related to !
anyone in my Hickerson line. If I find anything, I'll post it here.
